Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use PackerMaster, why we collect it, how we protect it, and the choices you have.

1. Introduction and Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the website www.packermaster.com and the PackerMaster container-loading software (together, the "Service"). In this policy, "PackerMaster", "we", "us" and "our" refer to the operator of the Service.

By creating an account or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not use the Service.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the information we need to provide and improve the Service.

Category What we collect Why we collect it
Account information Username, email address, and a securely hashed password To create and authenticate your account, and to send you essential service messages (for example, password reset and purchase confirmations)
Content you submit Cargo dimensions and quantities, container selections, packing configurations, and saved packing records To perform the packing calculation, display your results, and let you save and reopen records
Usage and technical information IP address, browser type and version, device and operating system, pages visited, and error logs To operate the Service securely, prevent abuse, diagnose faults, and understand aggregate usage
Purchase information The plan you purchased, purchase date, access period, and a payment transaction identifier supplied by our payment provider To activate and manage your plan, provide support, and meet accounting obligations
Communications The content of emails or messages you send to our support team To answer your questions and resolve issues
We do not store your card details. When you pay for a plan, your payment is processed by an external payment provider (see Section 5). Your full card number, security code and bank credentials are entered directly with that provider and are never transmitted to or stored on our servers. We only receive a confirmation that the payment succeeded, together with a transaction reference.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide the Service: run packing calculations, show 3D results, save records, and activate the plan you purchased.
  • To manage your account: registration, sign-in, password reset, and account security.
  • To process payments and prevent fraud: through our payment provider, and by monitoring for abuse of free trials and promotional limits.
  • To communicate with you: service announcements, purchase confirmations, and replies to your support requests.
  • To maintain and improve the Service: troubleshooting, security monitoring, and understanding which features are used.
  • To comply with the law: including tax, accounting and lawful requests from competent authorities.

Where required by applicable law (for example, under the GDPR), we rely on the following legal bases: performance of our contract with you, your consent, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service, and compliance with legal obligations.

4. Cookies and Local Storage

We use a small number of cookies and browser storage technologies that are necessary for the Service to work. These include:

  • Sign-in state — so that you stay signed in between pages.
  • Interface preferences — such as your selected language and measurement units.
  • Security and anti-abuse identifiers — used to detect automated abuse of free plans and trials.

These technologies are used for functionality and security rather than advertising. You can clear them at any time through your browser settings, although some parts of the Service may then stop working correctly.

5. Payment Processing and Sharing With Third Parties

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers we need in order to run the Service, and only to the extent necessary:

Recipient Purpose Information shared
Creem (creem.io) Acts as the Merchant of Record for all paid plans. Creem processes your payment, calculates and remits applicable taxes, issues your receipt, and handles refunds. Email address and the product purchased. Creem collects and processes your payment details directly under its own privacy policy (see creem.io/privacy).
Email delivery providers Sending account and purchase confirmation emails. Email address and the content of the message.
Hosting and infrastructure providers Storing data and serving the Service. Data stored on our behalf on secure servers.
Error monitoring and analytics providers Detecting faults and understanding aggregate usage. Technical and usage information, such as browser type, error details and approximate region.

We may also disclose information where we are required to do so by law, to enforce our Terms of Service, to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case we will require the recipient to honour this Privacy Policy.

6. International Data Transfers

Our servers and those of the providers listed above may be located in countries other than your own. As a result, your information may be transferred to and processed in a different country, which may have different data protection rules. Where we transfer personal information across borders, we take reasonable steps to ensure that it continues to receive an adequate level of protection, for example through contractual safeguards with the recipient.

7. How Long We Keep Your Information

  • Account data — kept while your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal information within a reasonable period.
  • Packing records and configurations — kept while your account is active so that you can reopen them, and deleted when you delete the record or your account.
  • Purchase and transaction records — kept for as long as required by tax, accounting and consumer-protection law, even after your account is closed.
  • Technical and security logs — kept for a limited period, typically no longer than 12 months, unless a longer period is needed to investigate abuse.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights in relation to your personal information:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction — ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Deletion — ask us to delete your personal information, where we are not required to keep it by law.
  • Portability — ask us to provide your information in a structured, commonly used format.
  • Objection and restriction — object to, or ask us to restrict, certain processing based on our legitimate interests.
  • Withdrawal of consent — where we rely on your consent, withdraw it at any time.

This includes rights available under the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended (CCPA/CPRA). We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we do not discriminate against users who exercise their privacy rights.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@mail.packermaster.com. We may ask you to verify your identity before we act on your request. We aim to respond within 30 days.

9. How We Protect Your Information

  • Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS).
  • Passwords are stored in hashed form and are never kept in plain text.
  • Access to personal information is restricted to personnel and providers who need it to operate the Service.
  • We monitor the Service for abuse and security incidents, and we apply industry-standard safeguards to prevent unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration or loss.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We therefore cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable and appropriate measures to protect your information.

10. Children

The Service is a business tool intended for users who are at least 16 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes to the Service or to applicable law. The current version is always published on this page, and the date of the last update is shown below. Where a change is significant, we will provide a more prominent notice on the Service or by email.
